The Diocesan Museum of Santarém, instituted in 2013, opened its first permanent exhibition room with an imposing canvas depicting the Most Holy Trinity. The museum was awarded the Europa Nostra prize for the exceptional character of its installation and its collections.
The canvas is from the third quarter of the 18th century and measures 3.45 metres in height by 2.06 metres in width. The work shows the figures of Christ alive on the cross.
