The Mosteiro de Lorvão, in Penacova, hosts between October 3 and 5 the 5th National Show of Conventual Sweets. The event is dedicated to the celebration of Portuguese conventual sweets, a culinary tradition with historical roots in the old convents of the country. This is the fifth edition of this show, which has established itself as an important moment for the preservation and enhancement of this gastronomic art.
The initiative brings together more than two dozen confectioners, professionals and artisans specialized in the production of traditional sweets of conventual inspiration. These participants bring to the event their experience and knowledge in preparing recipes that date back centuries of tradition, many of them passed down from generation to generation.
The show's program covers three days dedicated to traditional gastronomy, culture and music, offering visitors a complete experience that goes beyond simple tasting. The event proposes a festive environment where conventual sweets are celebrated together with other cultural and artistic expressions.
All activities at the show have free entry, thus seeking to promote access for all interested parties to this celebration of traditional Portuguese sweets. The official program starts on October 3, beginning a weekend dedicated to the enhancement of national gastronomic heritage.
