In several cities in Germany, tens of thousands of people took to the streets again to protest against the growth of the far-right in the country. The protests come following recent electoral results that favored the Alternative for Germany party (AfD).
The AfD achieved almost 44% of the votes in the regional elections in Saxony-Anhalt, held at the beginning of this month. This result represents the best performance ever achieved by the party in these regional elections, coming very close to the coveted absolute majority.
Among the protesters are citizens who express concern about the direction the country is taking. One of the participants, whose grandparents were Nazis, publicly expressed her disapproval of the current situation, emphasizing the importance of resisting what she considers to be a setback in democratic values.
