The British singer Lola Young paid tribute to Brazil before performing at Rock in Rio. She published a video singing the song "Sad sob story" in the sea of Rio de Janeiro, with Pão de Açúcar in the background. The artist performed on the festival's World Stage on Sunday, September 13.
The song's lyrics refer to a breakup, but Lola explained that the video represents her happiness at being in Brazil. In her post, she declared that she was far from feeling sad while in the country.
The British artist said she danced in the favelas, hitched a ride on the back of a stranger's motorcycle, ate pão de queijo, and swam in the sea during her stay in Rio de Janeiro. She stated she was ready to channel all this energy into her performance at the festival.
Lola Young thanked Brazil and said she was excited to perform at Rock in Rio that night, inviting her fans to attend the event.
