Daniel Vorcaro's defense, owner of Banco Master, asked the president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Edson Fachin, to filter the content of the banker's phone before making any data public. The lawyers want to prevent the publication of messages and images involving Vorcaro's children, as well as dialogues exchanged with their defenders.
The request comes after Court ministers requested the forwarding of the device's full content for the proceedings of next Tuesday's trial, when an investigation against Minister Alexandre de Moraes could be opened.
The defense argues that there is content in the seized materials that bears no relation to the investigated facts and that pertains exclusively to Vorcaro's private sphere. The lawyers specifically cite messages and images of the banker's children and dialogues with his lawyers as examples of material that should be protected.
The request was filed in the procedure that gathers the Federal Police report on the case, which became known as the "fake news inquiry" and involves disputes between the Armed Forces and the STF.
