The president of the United States, Donald Trump, dismissed this Sunday (13) as "negative forces" those who call for a slowdown in the development of artificial intelligence (AI). During his visit to Ireland, Trump told reporters that "there are many negative forces raising this issue when they shouldn't, and they are suggesting things that won't happen."
Calls for greater caution in the AI sector have been growing in recent days. On the previous Saturday, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said the company would adopt additional safety measures, including independent evaluations carried out by third parties.
Amodei also called for the technology sector as a whole to slow down the pace of AI development. Anthropic's position, creator of the virtual assistant Claude, reflects a trend among major companies in the sector that have been warning about growing risks associated with the technology.
