A car accident occurred this afternoon on the VR1, in the Machico - Ribeira Brava direction. The accident happened at kilometre 18 of the highway, more precisely at Viaduto do Comboio, and was reported by the concessionaire.
The accident caused slight congestion on the road, with approximately 700 metres in length. However, the situation has already been resolved and traffic is flowing normally in that direction.
In the opposite direction, some congestion is still felt, although less intense. This congestion is due to both the roadworks being carried out on the Via Rápida, as well as an accident that occurred in the same area.
