The candidate for president by PL, Jair Bolsonaro, cancelled all campaign schedules planned for this Sunday in Presidente Prudente, in the interior of São Paulo. The decision was made due to the heavy rains that have been affecting the region in recent days, generating risk of flooding and landslides. The senator's campaign informed that the commitments will be rescheduled at an opportune moment.
Jair Bolsonaro would participate in two events in the city accompanied by the governor of São Paulo and candidate for reelection, Tarcísio de Freitas, also from PL. With the cancellation, the candidate for President will remain in Brasília throughout Sunday, however without any public schedules planned.
The Presidente Prudente region is facing adverse meteorological conditions, with intense rains that concern local authorities. The risk of flooding and landslides motivated the decision to cancel the campaign commitments in the city. The official note from the senator's campaign confirmed that the schedules were cancelled "due to recent events and the heavy rains affecting the region."
