Around 20 thousand people gathered this Saturday in Bucharest, Romania, to participate in a mega table of approximately five kilometres in length. The event managed to beat a Guinness record, according to the organisation. The initiative took place in a public space in the Romanian capital and was attended by thousands of citizens.
The main objective of the giant table was to raise funds for the construction of a child psychiatry hospital. The solidarity campaign aims to support the project expected to be completed in 2027. The hospital will be dedicated to the treatment of children and adolescents with mental health problems.
The organisation of the event has not disclosed the total amount raised so far. The previous Guinness record for the longest table in the world was surpassed with this coordinated action in Bucharest. The initiative was widely disseminated in Romanian media outlets.
