Vila Viçosa hosted another edition of the Festas dos Capuchos, one of the biggest festive moments in the Alentejo. The festive atmosphere once again took over the town throughout this weekend, with the streets full of visitors and locals celebrating the tradition.
The bull releases continue to be one of the main attractions of the event, gathering the public at Praça da República and Avenida Bento de Jesus Caraça. Sunday morning was marked by the second release of this edition, which brought many people out early to watch the moment.
The Festas dos Capuchos also include music and entertainment, but it is the bullfighting traditions that draw the most attention. The event is described as a moment of gathering between friends and families, where traditions that are part of the community's identity are celebrated.
Rádio Campanário followed Sunday morning and recorded the main moments of the second release, documenting a popular festival that continues to attract people from different parts of the region and keeps alive a tradition that spans generations.
