Diego Moreira, the Portuguese forward who left Benfica on a free transfer by choosing not to renew his contract, was decisive in Milan's comeback against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. The young player made the most of the 45 minutes Ruben Amorim gave him in the second half to score a brace in the 65th and 67th minutes, allowing Milan to secure a 2-2 draw.
Lazio went into half-time with a two-goal lead, built through Matteo Cancellieri in the 10th minute and Tijjani Noslin in the 39th. Pervis Estupiñan, Milan's left-back, was poorly positioned in both plays that led to goals. Nuno Tavares, the Portuguese defender who plays for Lazio, played an important role in both of the Roman side's goals.
Ruben Amorim made three substitutions at the break, removing Loftus-Cheek, Estupiñan and Luka Modric, and bringing on Christian Pulisic, Diego Moreira and Yunus Musah. The Portuguese winger came alive and made his Milan debut with a double. Gonçalo Ramos started in Milan's attack.
With this result, Lazio took over top spot in Serie A. Amorim acknowledged that the team was not present in the first half, admitting a lack of energy and loss of possession, but highlighted the team's response in the second half.
