According to a Siemens study, intelligent electric vehicle charging can save 10.6 billion euros for European electricity networks. This technology allows for optimizing charging times, reducing pressure on existing electrical infrastructure.
The study indicates that battery electric vehicle adoption will continue to grow significantly in Europe. According to Siemens projections for 2030, Sweden leads with 27.3% of the passenger car fleet composed of battery electric vehicles, followed by Germany with 15.7%.
In Southern European countries, penetration will be more limited. Italy expects to reach 4.6% and Spain 4.5% of battery electric vehicles in its car fleet by 2030. Poland has the lowest percentage among the referenced countries, with only 2.5%.
The disparity between various European countries suggests that the impact of intelligent charging on electricity networks will differ depending on the market, although the overall economic benefits are significant across Europe.
