Sara Barros Leitão, actress, playwright and director, will premiere on Friday in Braga the monologue "We, Alone". The show will then tour the country over the coming months.
The play tells the story of the decriminalization of abortion in Portugal through real stories of people who lived that reality. The work brings together testimonies from women who resorted to voluntary termination of pregnancy before and after the law.
The show emerges in the context of celebrations that precede the 20 years of the decriminalization of abortion in Portugal, contributing to the discussion on the subject. The staging aims to give voice to silenced experiences and promote reflection on the impact of this law on the lives of Portuguese women.
