The president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Edson Fachin, assumed the rapporteurship of the discussion about the alleged relationship between Minister Alexandre de Moraes and former banker Daniel Vorcaro. In a dispatch published this Saturday (12), Fachin removed the case from Minister André Mendonça, who had previously been designated to analyze it.
Fachin also ordered the referral to the Court's Presidency of the processes related to investigations into fraud at INSS and Banco Master. With this decision, both inquiries are halted pending further court determination. The president of the Supreme can assume the rapporteurship of these investigations or submit the issue for trial by the full court.
The president of the STF also denied the request made by Moraes for the cases to be tried in a joint session next Tuesday (15). Moraes had requested that the analysis of the messages exchanged with Vorcaro take place alongside the inquiries into Mendonça's conduct in the Master case.
Fachin determined that Tuesday's session will address the validity of the Federal Police (PF) report and the nullification request submitted by the Attorney General's Office (PGR) regarding the investigations.
