Yara de Novaes discovered her calling for acting still in pre-adolescence, when she was taken by her older sister to watch a theatrical performance at PUC in Belo Horizonte, her hometown. She reports that an actress came on stage, opened her blouse and had her breasts exposed under a spotlight, generating in her a feeling that anything could happen in that space, with the spotlight giving freedom and possibility of transformation.
At 15, Yara joined a theater workshop and, at 21, wrote her first play. At 25, she was already working as a performing arts teacher, building a solid career that, only in recent years, has brought her recognition from the general public.
She starred in the feature film "Malu" (2024), directed by Pedro Freire, work that earned her the trophy for best actress at the Festival do Rio.
Recently, Yara de Novaes joined Globoplay's catalog playing Dr. Irene in the series "Emergency 53", a new project that has been catching the audience's attention.
