Bragantino, which played the entire second half with one player less after Wallace Yan's red card, opened the scoring at 29 minutes of the first half. The player delivered a low cross to Pitta, who was free in the area, and that was how the São Paulo team's goal came.
Before the red card, Botafogo was completely dominated by their opponents. Bragantino pushed the home team back into their own defense and created several clear goal-scoring opportunities. Goalkeeper Gabriel Batista made an important save on Fernando's header, while Ramires hit the post twice in succession.
With the result, Botafogo adds 32 points and remains in 14th place in the Brazilian Championship table. Bragantino is in ninth place with 36 points.
