Two men who worked in the baggage service at Lisbon Airport were arrested by the National Anti-Trafficking Unit of the Judicial Police. The suspects are accused of illicit enrichment through their connection to drug trafficking networks.
The police operation occurred after the two men removed four suitcases containing 110 kilograms of cocaine from a plane coming from Brazil. The drug was hidden in the luggage transported on the aircraft.
After the arrest, the two suspects were placed in preventive detention. Authorities continue to investigate the connections of the arrested individuals with international cocaine trafficking networks.
