Milo J, a 19-year-old young Argentine singer, was received with great enthusiasm at Rock in Rio, performing at the Supernova Stage on a Saturday afternoon that also featured Pedro Sampaio, João Gomes and Maroon 5. The artist, whose name is pronounced "Milo Rota" with the aspirated J from Spanish, did not face any audience problems, as he has hit songs on streaming platforms and two sold-out dates in São Paulo.
The term "rapper" is considered limiting to describe Milo J, who performs with a large and predominantly acoustic band, including guitar, bass, keyboards, violin, percussion and samples. His sound is almost tribal and seeks to modernize the traditional Argentine sound.
The show opened with "Bajo de la piel", accompanied by a carijado choir at full volume, and the artist already demonstrated being comfortable on stage, greeting the audience in Portuguese with the expression "Todo bien?". The crowd responded with shouts of "Milo! Milo!" throughout the entire performance.
