Pernambuco-born pianist Amaro Freitas opened the presentation at the Rock in Rio Sunset Stage, coloring the space with afrojazz alongside his band. Next, São Paulo native Criolo and Portuguese-Cape Verdean descent Dino D'Santiago took the stage, together presenting the verses of the song "Esperança." The show, held on Saturday afternoon in Rio de Janeiro, brought together for the first time the album "Criolo, Amaro & Dino," considered one of the best works of MPB in 2025.
In the xaxado "Você não me quis," Criolo paved the way for Amaro's Latin arabesques across the piano keys, while Dino brought the rhythmic celebration of Cape Verde through percussion. The collaboration between the three artists was clear from the start, revealing the intention to go beyond the record, in a rare encounter between friends separated by geography, but united by music.
The spectacle explored themes of ancestry and poetry in various languages, wandering through different musical traditions. Critics note that, despite the afternoon not yet being full, the audience was drawn in by a sensory journey full of poetry, demonstrating the strength of the union between the three musicians.
