The Venice Film Festival has come to an end and the big winner was Denmark. The film "Woman Unknown", directed by May el-Toukhy, received the Golden Lion, the festival's most important award.
The female lead of the film, Mathilde Arcel, was also honored with the Volpi Cup for Best Actress, recognizing her performance in the Danish production.
On the male side, John Malkovich won the Best Actor award, adding another distinction to his acting career.
As for Italy, the host country of the festival, the result was negative, with Italian productions completely shut out of the main awards of the competition.
