BC servers who helped Vorcaro suspected the Master a year before complaint

oglobo12 September 2026 at 20:47

One of the petitions made public by the Supreme Federal Court indicates that two allies of Daniel Vorcaro inside the Central Bank may have delayed the liquidation process of Banco Master. Because of the interference of these servers, the fraud was only fully communicated by the financial authority to the Federal Public Ministry a year after suspicions were raised.

A Federal Police document, made public after Justice Edson Fachin's decision, shows how Belline Santana, head of the BC's Banking Supervision Department, and his deputy, Paulo Sérgio Neves de Souza, acted in favor of the former banker. Both are suspected of having advised Vorcaro before a meeting with Campos Neto that authorized the purchase of Will.

Suspicions about Master arose in September 2024, after the two servers analyzed a fund called Bravo, used in the fraudulent scheme. Even so, the official communication to the Federal Public Ministry only occurred a year later, in September 2025.

Why this matters

The revelation exposes serious failures in banking supervision and possible connivance of public servants with financial fraud, which directly affects consumers and investors who trusted the financial system. The case may have political consequences for the Central Bank's management and raises questions about the integrity of financial regulation in the country.
