Mount Mabu, located in the Mozambican province of Zambezia, now benefits from community legal protection. The protected area covers 9,341 hectares.
This mountain is known for its high concentration of rare species and hosts more than 200 butterfly species, making it a site of great importance for biodiversity.
From now on, the forest will have legal protection at the community level, guaranteeing the preservation of its natural resources and the species that live there.
