The EDGE Group, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, announced the successful completion of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for six ANAVIA HT-100 NAVAL unmanned helicopters, which were delivered to the Angolan Navy as part of a one billion euro naval program.
The tests took place from August 24 to 28 at ANAVIA's facilities in Bilten, Switzerland, and were attended by a high-level delegation from the Angolan Navy and Simportex, a public Angolan company specializing in the supply of equipment for the defense and security sector.
The six HT-100 NAVAL unmanned helicopters will be integrated into three BR71 MK II Combattante corvettes, with two systems assigned to each vessel. Each system is equipped with electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) sensors and will be fully integrated into the corvettes' combat management systems, expanding maritime surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
The program includes three 71-meter multimission corvettes. The first ship, the NRA Ekuikui II, was launched in Cherbourg, France, the second corvette is being built by ADSB in Abu Dhabi, and the third by CMN Naval also in Cherbourg. The next steps include at-sea testing of the integrated capability in Angola.
