The leader of Chega, André Ventura, accused socialist MEP Pedro Marques Carneiro of "lying" regarding the party's proposals on VAT on fuels. The exchange of accusations follows criticism made by the PS.
Ventura recalled that the Socialist Party did not present "a single bill" on VAT on fuels. Instead, the PS chose to propose only a mere recommendation to the Government on this matter.
This exchange of accusations highlights the political tension between Chega and the Socialist Party around fiscal policies relating to fuels and VAT.
