The coordinator of the Left Bloc criticized the Ministry of Education, accusing it of presenting every year a narrative that does not correspond to the reality of schools. The intervention arose in the context of a debate about the situation of the education sector in Portugal.
The Left Bloc representative pointed out that, despite the promises and plans announced by the Government, the shortage of teachers continues to be a persistent problem in Portuguese schools. According to the accusation, the executive repeats the same message every year without taking effective measures to resolve the situation.
The criticism comes at a time when several schools face difficulties in filling vacant positions, especially in specific subjects. The Ministry of Education has been pressured by various parties and union organizations to find concrete solutions for the retention and recruitment of teachers.
