António José Seguro obtained 69% approval from Portuguese people at the start of his term as President of the Republic, according to a poll conducted for CNN Portugal, TVI and the weekly newspaper Nascer do Sol. Only 20% of respondents disapprove of his performance, while 11% do not know or prefer not to answer.
The positive assessment is more expressive among women, with 71% approval compared to 66% among men. Geographically, the North stands out as the main stronghold of support, with 74% approval, followed by Greater Lisbon with 70% and the Center and Setúbal Peninsula regions with 69%.
At the party level, Seguro collects high levels of acceptance in almost all political forces, with the Socialist Party leading with 86% approval, followed by Livre with 80%, Left Bloc with 78% and CDU with 62%. The Liberal Initiative records 67% approval and the Democratic Alliance 75%.
The exception is among Chega voters, where opinions are divided: 43% approve and 42% disapprove of the President of the Republic's performance in Belém.
