Three South Korean children collected 15 euros to take a sick wild mouse to a veterinary hospital. The children, elementary school students, appeared at the door of a clinic with the animal inside a plastic bag, on July 19th, worried that the money they had — about 20,000 won, the equivalent of 13 euros — would not be enough to pay for the treatment.
The vet was surprised by the compassion shown by the children and treated the mouse for free, telling them not to worry about taking it home. The case went viral after a video of the scene was shared on YouTube.
The video spread rapidly through South Korea and eventually caught international attention, including in publications from other countries. The case was reported by the SK Herald, which highlighted the tenderness and determination of the children in wanting to save a wild animal they found.
