In the early morning of this Saturday, acts of vandalism occurred in different areas of the parish of Rio de Moinhos, in the municipality of Penafiel. The episodes took place in the areas of Quintela, Ribeiro and Novelhos, having caused damage to local heritage.
The Parish Council of Rio de Moinhos issued a statement expressing "deep repudiation" of the acts committed and lamenting the damage caused to the community, stating that they affected the sense of security and tranquility of the population.
The GNR has been on the ground since the early morning, carrying out procedures to investigate the circumstances of the acts of vandalism and identify those responsible. The local authority appeals for collaboration from residents, requesting that anyone with information about suspicious movements during the early morning contact the Parish Council or directly the GNR.
