The Secretary-General of PS today advocated various reforms to local power, presenting proposals that aim to change how municipalities are financed and governed.
Among the main proposals is the allocation of a share of renewable energy revenues to municipalities, allowing these local authorities to directly benefit from clean energy production in their territory.
PS also proposes a new municipal electoral law, whose objective is to ensure greater stability to municipal executives, possibly changing rules for the election and functioning of municipal chambers.
These proposals arise in the context of a broader debate about the decentralization of powers and resources to local government in Portugal.
