Senator Bolsonaro's defense (PL-SP) asked the Supreme Federal Court (STF) that an investigation into the "Dark Horse" case be redirected from Minister Flávio Dino to Minister André Mendonça. The Federal Police are investigating whether the biopic of former President Jair Bolsonaro received funds from Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master, and what was the origin of the money transferred by the banker, which caused losses in state and municipal pension funds across the country.
In one of the requests, made at the end of July, Bolsonaro's defense argues to Minister Edson Fachin, President of the Court, that there was a mistake in the distribution of a petition that landed with Minister Dino due to its relation to parliamentary amendments. Dino has in his office the investigations into the misuse of this type of resource sent by parliamentarians.
There is suspicion that the film may have received resources from federal amendments, which would justify the transfer of the case to the rapporteurship of André Mendonça. Bolsonaro's defense maintains that the issue should not be analyzed by Dino, who is already involved in investigations related to the misuse of parliamentary amendments. The case remains under review at the STF.
