A man was arrested in flagrante on Friday night after trying to steal products from a supermarket located on Visconde de Pirajá Street, in Ipanema, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The Military Police of Rio de Janeiro were called to check on an incident at the commercial establishment.

According to the PMERJ, among the items the man tried to steal were bottles of whiskey, premium meats and cheeses. Police officers from the Present Security Operation Ipanema intercepted the suspect at the scene and managed to recover all the products that had been taken.

The case was forwarded to the 14th Police Station, responsible for the Leblon area. According to the Military Police, the man remained in custody at the police station following the arrest in flagrante.
