The roller carts returned to the streets of Cova da Piedade, in Almada, in an initiative that sought to recover a tradition that had been lost. The activity consisted of the route taken with these vehicles, a practice that for years was part of the daily life of the local community.
The return of this tradition was due to a challenge launched by an associative group from the region, which decided to promote the recovery of this activity as a way to preserve collective memory and strengthen community bonds.
The first edition of the event had significant participation, bringing together more than 60 registered participants who wanted to take part in this celebration of local traditions.
The initiative allowed not only reviving childhood memories of the older participants, but also providing a new experience for younger generations, who were able to learn about and participate in a tradition that was part of the history of the parish.
