Paulo Angioni, executive football director at Fluminense, died in the early hours of Saturday (12), at the age of 80, in Rio de Janeiro. He had been treating pancreatic cancer since early September. The club announced his death through a social media post.
Angioni dedicated four decades to Brazilian football and worked at several clubs throughout his career. He began his journey in the early 1980s, leaving Municipal, in Tijuca, to work at Vasco, where he remained for 14 years.
Throughout his career, Angioni worked at some of the country's major clubs, including Flamengo, Palmeiras, Corinthians, Bahia, Olaria, and Fluminense. He also worked at the CBF, where he was supervisor of the Brazilian National Team in 1989 and 1990.
