Estreito de Câmara de Lobos once again celebrates, on a Saturday, one of the traditions most closely linked to the identity of the parish and the municipality: the grape harvest. The Grape Harvest Festival brings to the streets customs associated with grape picking and wine production, recreating a tradition that marks the local identity.
The event includes an ethnographic procession with dozens of participants dressed in traditional costumes, who walk through the streets of the parish representing the customs linked to the grape harvest. This historical reenactment is one of the highlights of the festival.
The tradition continues at the wine press, where the treading and re-treading of grapes takes place, followed by the contest "Who is the fastest", which tests the agility of the participants. Throughout the day, the Grape Harvest Festival offers various activities related to the wine culture of the region.
