The competition for allocating funds to schools under the sponsorship contracts with the State was suspended through a precautionary measure. The measure was filed by Acordarte, the entity that manages the Academia de Música de Lisboa.
Acordarte filed this precautionary measure with the aim of halting the competition process that had been opened. The entity claims there are grounds of "illegality and unconstitutionality" in the process in question.
This suspension occurs at an early stage of the competition, preventing the continuation of fund allocation to schools under the sponsorship contracts with the State. The dispute calls into question the way funding is being managed for artistic education.
