The UN secretary-general, António Guterres, met this Friday with the Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, in New Delhi. The encounter took place on the eve of the BRICS summit, which India is presiding over this year.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed various international matters, including the Indian presidency of the BRICS. This organization brings together emerging countries such as Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
The wars in Ukraine and the Middle East were also topics discussed between Guterres and Modi. The United Nations secretary-general has sought to mediate international conflicts during his mandate.
