A 12-story building under construction collapsed in the early hours of this Saturday (12) onto a house in the Penha neighborhood, in the East Zone of São Paulo. The building had its construction embargoed and had no residents living in it, although two bricklayers usually slept at the site.
At the time of the accident, the house that was hit housed a family of Bolivian origin made up of 8 adults and 3 children. Firefighters removed from the rubble a woman approximately between 40 and 50 years old, who did not survive her injuries and died. A child and an adult were rescued alive, while two other children were seen in the rubble.
The Fire Department team dispatched 16 vehicles, 42 firefighters, one doctor and one nurse to carry out the rescue operations. There is still no information about the possible victims who would have been in the collapsed building. The article mentions that GLOBO was trying to contact those responsible for the construction at the time of publication.
