The members of the United Nations Security Council held, this Friday, a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The tribute took place at the beginning of a meeting that marked the 25 years of the terrorist attacks.
The September 11, 2001 attacks killed approximately three thousand people, having been one of the most significant moments in contemporary history and leading to profound changes in international security policies.
The United Nations Security Council thus paid tribute to the victims of these terrorist attacks that significantly altered the global geopolitical landscape.
