The Ministry of Internal Administration, led by Luís Neves, called meetings with the unions of the Public Security Police and the National Republican Guard to address pending issues related to supplements, careers and working hours.
The meetings come after the representative structures of the PSP and the GNR announced a cycle of protests across the country. The protests are related to the alleged non-compliance with promises regarding salary review and the valorization of the careers of security forces personnel.
The Executive is now seeking to find solutions through dialogue with the unions, at a time when the security forces show growing dissatisfaction with salary conditions and professional progression.
