The Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, convened the PSP and GNR structures for negotiation sessions. This convening comes at a time of tension between the government and the security forces, following the protests that have been taking place.
Luís Neves clarified that scheduling these meetings was not a reaction to the protests that have been occurring throughout the country. According to the minister, the convening fulfills the calendar that was always planned, thus discarding the idea that the government was pressured to act due to the demonstrations.
