The Miguel Torga Space, in Sabrosa, received on September 9th the reception session for the municipality's educational community, marking the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. The event brought together teachers, non-teaching staff and other professionals linked to the Miguel Torga School Grouping, in a ceremony that included a musical moment with a student and a teacher from the Vila Real Conservatory, who performed pieces on the transverse flute.
The session featured remarks from the Mayor of Sabrosa, Helena Lapa, and the director of the School Grouping, Joana Mourão. Helena Lapa welcomed the professionals, leaving a special message for those who are now beginning their connection to the municipality, urging them to make the Sabrosa territory their own. The mayor also highlighted the cooperation between the Municipality and the School Grouping.
Among the municipal investments in the area of education, Helena Lapa mentioned the ongoing intervention at the Miguel Torga Basic and Secondary School, as well as a set of family support measures that cover different stages of the educational journey, from birth to higher education, including meals, activity sheets, school transportation and scholarships.
Joana Mourão appealed for commitment and unity among the professionals of the school community, advocating for an attitude that is demanding, but also humane and collaborative. The initiative concluded with a socializing moment among participants, with a welcome drink.
