The Municipality of Santa Marta de Penaguião held a welcome reception for the educational community of the municipality, marking the start of the 2026/2027 school year with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the School Grouping. The event took place at the Municipal Swimming Pools and aimed to strengthen closeness and collaboration between the Municipality and the professionals who work daily with the children and young people of the municipality.
During the reception, the Mayor of Santa Marta de Penaguião, Sílvia Silva, wished the school community a successful school year and highlighted the role of school in the development and education of students, stating that while the family is the first foundation in building each child, school plays a decisive role in the growth, education, and future of students.
The mayor also called on education professionals to show resilience, mutual support, and dedication, recognizing the importance of their daily work with students.
The initiative concluded with a social gathering, promoting closer ties among the various members of the educational community and strengthening joint efforts toward a more inclusive and community-centered school.
