The Supreme Court blocked the expulsion of a cadet from the Public Security Police (PSP) that had been threatened due to posts deemed homophobic and nationalist on social media.
The Public Prosecutor's Office had initiated disciplinary proceedings against the cadet that culminated in the expulsion decision, but the Supreme Court decided to block it.
The posts that motivated the proceedings were made by the cadet during a period when he had no connection whatsoever to the Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security, the PSP's training institution.
The court considered that the posts were not related to the cadet's academic or professional activity, not representing a violation of the duties inherent to his status as a PSP student.
