Rock in Rio 2026 presents a "dance day" highlighting the return of Maroon 5 to the festival. The Los Angeles band, founded in 1994 as Kara's Flowers, went through a transition from pop-punk to pop-rock and became one of the most internationally recognized acts, led by singer Adam Levine. Before performing at the festival, the group played shows in Salvador and São Paulo.
Since their debut in Brazil in 2004, when they performed at venues that no longer exist, Maroon 5 has accumulated over 30 performances on Brazilian soil. Today, the band responsible for hits like "Moves like Jagger," "Animals," and "This Love" leads a lineup described as light and eclectic for Saturday at the City of Rock.
Curator Zé Ricardo defined the day as "a provocation about what pop is," explaining that the genre functions as a category for artists who have mass communication, although it was considered, for some time, a musical style in its own right.
