Davina Morley, ex-girlfriend of King Charles III considered at the time as his "soulmate" and future queen before the then Prince of Wales married Princess Diana, died at age 75. The information was confirmed by her family to the British newspaper Daily Mail this Friday (11). The death occurred on September 2, after a "short illness" that was not identified by the publication. The family plans to hold a celebration of her life for November, near her residence in the Cotswolds region, an upscale area of the English countryside.
Davina also had noble origins: she was the granddaughter of the 1st Baron McGowan, a lord who led the British chemical giant Imperial Chemical Industries for 20 years. After Charles took her to a wedding and she was subsequently photographed sitting next to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at a horse event, the British press began referring to her as a future queen.
Royal experts believed that Davina not only had the approval of the Windsor family, but was also seen as a potential wife for the then Prince of Wales. However, Charles ultimately married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981, ending this chapter of his romantic life before ascending to the throne.
