The areas and zones of Castelló where the City Council intensifies mosquito treatments

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General12 September 2026 at 05:15

The City Council of Castelló intensified treatments against the appearance of mosquitoes in various areas of the city, as prevention against possible upcoming rains. The objective of these actions is to minimize the presence of breeding grounds of these insects and guarantee a rapid response after precipitation episodes, as explained by the councilor for Public Health, Luciano Ferrer.

The councilor highlighted that, although surveillance, inspection and prevention work is carried out continuously throughout the year, the arrival of rains after summer makes it necessary to carry out more actions concentrated on the points in the municipal area where there is the greatest risk of water accumulation.

Among the priority zones identified are the Marjaleria area, the ravines, the areas near the beaches and other points previously identified as susceptible to water stagnation.

Luciano Ferrer emphasized the importance of these preventive measures to control the mosquito population before the weather conditions favorable to their proliferation become more frequent in the region.
