Fernando is 39 years old and is the only inhabitant of an abandoned village in the province of Soria, in Spain. In the village there are 58 houses in perfect condition, but none of them have residents other than his. When you knock on a door, nobody answers, and the same happens from house to house, making it clear that it is not a coincidence.
Fernando is not alone in his fight for the village's survival. About 80 people gather to prevent the town from collapsing or falling into oblivion, demonstrating a collective commitment to the preservation of the community.
This story illustrates the phenomenon of rural depopulation that affects many regions of Spain, particularly in provinces like Soria, where entire villages have been abandoned over the decades.
