Genelle Guzman McMillan was working on the 64th floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York when the first plane hit the top of the building on September 11, 2001. The woman was trapped under the rubble of the collapsed tower during the terrorist attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center complex. Genelle spent approximately 27 hours under the rubble before being rescued, having survived one of the deadliest tragedies in the history of the United States. She was the last person to be pulled alive from the rubble of the World Trade Center, becoming a symbol survivor of the September 11 attacks.
