The Electoral Court annulled on Friday the decision from the previous day that had prohibited candidate for governor of Bahia ACM Neto (União) from using "naked women or women with painted bodies" in campaign events. The decision was made by Judge Mhercio Cerqueira Monteiro, who sided with the candidate from União Brasil.
The judge justified the annulment stating that there was no "demonstration of authorship" on the part of ACM Neto. On Thursday, the same magistrate had granted a request from Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues' (PT) coalition, ACM Neto's opponent in this year's election.
The lawsuit filed by the PT's legal team accused ACM Neto of irregular electoral propaganda, which would consist of "the display of two women with apparently naked and painted bodies in campaign colors on a sound truck." The cited episode occurred during a campaign caravan held on August 28.
