INEM technicians called off the strike they had scheduled after an agreement with the Government. The union reached an understanding with the executive after the Minister of Health reversed the measure that provided for the transfer of ambulances to the Local Health Units.
The call-off of the strike comes as a result of negotiations between the union of pre-hospital emergency technicians and the Ministry of Health, which changed its initial position on the reorganization of ambulance services.
The labor conflict had been motivated by the Government's intention to transfer ambulance management from INEM to the Local Health Units, a measure that technicians considered harmful to the functioning of the emergency medical system.
With the executive's reversal, the two parties managed to find common ground and avoid the conflict that would have impacted emergency medical services throughout the country.
